Training Day

Sticking to the training theme here, I remember some of my training traumas. In a way, the seniors train you up to about 75%. At first, I didn’t know why - but it was until I was in after my first year I figured it out.

The team doesn’t like to hand you all the answers that way you can use your noggin to figure things out by yourself. In our line of work, you can called up at ANY hour to troubleshoot a small catastrophe or a mid-day full network cluster-fudge blowout with 6 dept managers yelling in your ear. Not everyone is available to call, so its really up to you to either have a nervous breakdown or become superman and patch things up. You can still get blamed for causing it - even though you nor the I/T department had NOTHING to do with it. Its usually something the client unplugged, turned off, or deleted.

I guess its part of the job, you got to take the good with the bad. The bad eventually become good stories to tell.

Hence the comics.

Thoughts and Tech News

Whaaaa?

Have I become lazy enough that I don t feel like coding my own website and just throwing up a blog and posting new comics and such? Yes. Yes I am. You see, in the real world - I have a job. This blog (or blob - c mon this isn t a serious site) is just for fun. Its stories and situations taken out my daily work routine, most of them overly exagerrated but a few are literally true.
